Tisza: Autumn Sketches

Along the banks of a river, the environment has begun to display some of the characteristic features of fall. To prevent the riverbank from suffering further damage, a number of locals are already building a bed out of stone blocks. Others are engaged in activities such as fishing or fixing things. Plowing is one of these activities. A little while later, a riverboat of more modest size approaches. Stoker is putting coal into the oven, which is located in the engine room. A little further on, the river winds its way past a quaint little town. A rowing squad is getting ready for some upcoming competition. A microscope is being used by some biologists to examine the bacteria that are found in the water. A fresh coat of paint is being applied to a new barge before its crew launches it into the river. The sight of a speeding boat prompts a young boy to abandon his sandcastle and begin running alongside the river.
