One Foot in the Grave is a BBC sitcom. Victor Meldrew and his long-suffering wife Margaret star in the series. Meldrew's fight against the troubles he creates is a recurring theme in the shows. Victor retires involuntarily in an unknown English neighborhood. The sitcom revolves around his many attempts to keep himself occupied while dealing with a variety of disasters and misunderstandings. Although various hints suggest the series was set in Hampshire – likely Winchester-the majority of the episodes were shot on location in Walkford, near New Milton in Hampshire. Despite its typical production, the series incorporates aspects of black humour and surrealism into its household sitcom setting.
