L.A. Law

L.A. Law is a American television legal drama series that ran for eight seasons on NBC from September 1-5, 1986, to May 19, 1994. Created by Steven Bochco and Terry Louise Fisher, it contained many of Bochco's trademark features including a high numbers of storylines drama and humor that was off the wall. It reflected the societal and cultural ideologies of the 1980s and early 1990s, and a number of the cases featured on the series dealt with Hot Topic issues like abortion, racism, gay rights, homophobia, sexual harassment, AIDS, and domestic violence. The series often reflected societal tensions between their less well-paid junior staff and the wealthy lawyer protagonists. The series won 15 Emmy awards during its conduct, four of which were for Outstanding Drama Series, and was popular with critics and audiences.
