Jack of All Trades
Jack of All Trades is a two-season syndicated action comedy television show that aired in 2000. It constituted the Back2Back Action Hour with Cleopatra2525, and both shows were significant for being the first non-animated action series to air in the half-hour format in the United States since the 1970s. In the middle of the second season, the show was canceled. The show is set on the fictional French-controlled island of Pulau-Pulau in the East Indies around the turn of the nineteenth century. President Jefferson dispatched an American spy, Jack Stiles, to the island. He meets Emilia Rothschild, an English spy and his British contact. Together, they struggle to defeat Napoleon and other dangers to America. When the situation calls for it, Jack changes into a masked hero known as The Daring Dragoon. Many running gags in the show included deliberate historical inaccuracies, Jack being responsible for many important historical events but not receiving credit, Emilia inventing a miraculous invention in an obvious deus ex machina, sexual puns and innuendos, and Jack and Emilia's on-going romantic tension.
