Invader Zim
Invader Zim is an animated TV show from the United States that was made by Jhonen Vasquez. The first episode of the show aired on March 30, 2001, on Nickelodeon. The show is about an alien named Zim who comes from a planet called Irk and is always trying to take over and destroy Earth. His attempts to take over and destroy the human race are always thwarted by a combination of his own stupidity, the fact that his robot servant GIR doesn't work right, and a young paranormal investigator named Dib, who is one of the few people who has paid attention enough to know who Zim is. Invader Zim was made for kids in their early teens and got good reviews, but after the first season, it started to lose viewers. Before the end of the second season, Nickelodeon canceled the show, leaving at least 23 episodes and a planned TV movie as unfinished business. Since the show was cancelled, there has been a cult following for it. There was a pilot, 46 aired episodes, and about 17 episodes that were being made at the time the show was cancelled. All 46 episodes have been shown on TV as of August19, 2006. Nineteen of the episodes have two separate stories that last about twelve minutes each. There are eight episodes that are twice as long. Except for the pilot, which was directed by Jordan Reichek, all of the episodes were directed by Steve Ressel.
