Gurren Lagann

People build their homes and raise their animals in underground caverns in the far future. Because of this, they have been afraid of earthquakes and cave-ins for hundreds of years. One of these villages is Jeeha. One day, while digging to make the village bigger, a boy named Simon finds a small, shiny drill. At the same time, Kamina, a man who thinks there is another land above the village, convinces a gangster to break through the ceiling so they can leave the cave. The ceiling falls down after a sudden earthquake, and then a big robot breaks through the ceiling. Kamina is sure now that there is a world above them. He starts to fight with the robot without thinking. At that time, someone else comes down from the land above. The name of the girl is Yoko. She had been following the robot with a gun in her hand. But all she could do was try to get it to go away. Then, Simon shows Kamina and Yoko what he had found. It's a strange robot whose body is its head.
