Elizabeth I

Elizabeth I is really a 2005 British ancient drama television miniseries starring Helen Mirren as Elizabeth I of England, and directed by Tom Hooper, written by Nigel Williams. The miniseries covers approximately the last 2-4 decades of her nearly 45-year reign. Part 1 focuses on the years of her partnership with the Earl of Leicester. Part 2 targets her following relationship with the Earl of Essex, played by Hugh Dancy. The show originally was broadcast in the United Kingdom in 2 sections on Channel 4. It later aired on ATV in Hong Kong, CBC and TMN in Canada, HBO in the USA, ABC in Australia, along with TVNZ Television One in New Zealand. The show went on to win Golden Globe awards, Peabody, along with Emmy. Helen Mirren surfaced as Queen Elizabeth II from The Queen, with, the very same year.
