Disco
Disco was a soda music program which aired in Germany from 1971 to 1982 on the ZDF network. It aired at 7:30 PM on the very first Saturday of each month, each series running 4-5 minutes. Shows are made. The series was hosted by actor and comedian Ilja Richter. Its predecessor on ZDF, 4-3-2-1 Sweet & Hot was aired between 1966 and 1970, presenters included Suzanne Doucet and Ilja Richter. As a pop-oriented audience that was younger was generally served by disco compared to ZDF's hit parade, and its primary rival was Beat-Club, followed Musikladen.
Repeats of Disco are since 1984 on ZDF Musikkanal, after its close down in 1989 on 3sat. Since 2004, the ZDF Theaterkanal aired repeats of the series. To broadcast reruns, ZDF Dokukanal began Back in 2007, beginning with episodes from 1975 and additionally repeats of this series have been demonstrated at 2008 on hit24.
The series focussed during time of broadcasting current on chart hits, giving about equal airtime to German Schlager and pop music. Although it featured lots of disco hits provided that they were relevant, despite its name, it did not focus on disco music. .
