Claymore
It's written and illustrated by Norihiro Yagi, who is known for his dark fantasy manga Claymore. Monthly Shnen Jump debuted the series in the May 2001 edition, which has since been discontinued. When Weekly Shnen Jump ceased publication in June2007, the series was temporarily relocated there, where it continued to be published monthly. In November2007, Jump Square was introduced, and the series was relocated to it. Twenty-three tankobon volumes have been published by Shueisha as of December 2012. It took Madhouse eleven volumes to make a twenty-six-episode adaptation for television. Japanese television network NTV carried the series, which was directed by Hiroyuki Tanaka, from April3, 2007 until September25, 2007. It was published on July25, 2007 for the anime series' soundtrack, and on September27, 2007 for songs sung by anime characters. Viz Media has obtained the rights to publish the manga Claymore in the United States and Canada in both English and Spanish. As of November6,2012, it has released 21 volumes of the series, the first of which was released on April4, 2006. On Blu-ray and DVD, Funimation Entertainment, who licensed the anime adaptation in North America, has put out all seven seasons. Anime is being released in Australia and New Zealand thanks to a sub-license from Madman Entertainment, and in the United Kingdom, thanks to a license from Manga Entertainment.
