Witch Hunt

Sean Penn, executive producer, presents "Witch Hunt," a riveting indictment of the American justice system told through the eyes of one small town. For more than 25 years, Bakersfield voters have elected a tough-on-crime district attorney. Hundreds of innocent working-class mothers and fathers were convicted during his tenure. They were imprisoned for long periods of time, some for decades, before being exonerated. He is still in power today. On a micro level, this story parallels what has happened in the United States over the last eight years. When power is allowed to exist without oversight, civil rights are jeopardized.
