Unforgiven

Place in Hokkaido, Japan in the 1880s. Jubei Kamata (Ken Watanabe), who is on the side of the Edo shogunate administration , kills many men and women. His name is notorious at Kyoto. After the battle at Goryoukaku is going to be finished, Jubei disappears. Jubei resides together with his kid in relative peace. He is scarcely able to earn a living. Protecting his wife's tomb, Jubei has chose to prevent pick up a sword again, but as a result of poverty he does not have any choice except to decide on the sword. Jubei becomes a bounty hunter.
