The Color Purple

An epic tale spanning forty years at the life span of Celie, an African lady living in the South who survives bigotry and misuse. After Celie's abusive father marries her off into the both debasing"Mister" Albert Johnson, things go from bad to worse, so leaving Celie to get companionship anywhere she could. She perseveres, holding to her dream of one day being reunited with her sister at Africa. Based on the novel by Alice Walker.
