The Bellwether

To the outside world, Joanne is just a book store owner, but the Conspiracy knows better. She is dangerous. She's a bellwether: a quiet leader who is well on her way to being herself. When they kidnap her to break her and make her conform, they find out that Joanne is so much more than even she knew. Joanne is a feminist, one-room, one-character high-level thriller. It's a modern rite of passage story that most women have to go through to become whole people: How do you be yourself in the face of massive misogyny and hatred? (both overt and institutionalized). It is also the first woman to be in a "one-person film," which is a movie with only one character on screen.
