Sugar

Follows the tale of Miguel Santos, a. k. a. Sugar (Algenis Perez Soto), a Dominican bottle from San Pedro de Macorís, struggling to make it to the major leagues and pull himself and his family members out of poverty. Playing skillfully at a baseball academy in the Dominican Republic, Miguel lastly obtains his break at age 19 when he advances to the United States' minors system; yet when his use the mound fails, he begins to question the one-track mind of his life's passion.
