Peepli Live

Natha a poor farmer from Peepli village in the heart of rural India will lose his plot of land due to an unsettled bank loan. A quick fix to the trouble is the a federal government program that aids the family members of indebted farmers that have devoted self-destruction. As a way of survival Farmer Natha can choose to pass away. His sibling enjoys to push him towards this distinct 'honour' however Natha hesitates. Regional elections are around the corner as well as what could have been another undetected event becomes a 'cause celebre' with everybody desiring a piece of the action. Political bigwigs, upper-level bureaucrats, local henchmen as well as the ever-zealous media descend upon sleepy Peepli to lay their claim. The question on everybody's lips - "Will he or Will not he?" As the mania rises, nobody seems to care how Natha truly feels.
