Passion of Mind

When Marie, a widow in Provence with two daughters, goes to bed, she dreams about Marty, a literary agent in Manhattan who also dreams about Marie. The women appear to be twins. Marie meets William, who begins to court her. Marty meets Aaron, an accountant, and becomes his friend, then his lover. Both women tell their lovers about their ideal lives. Aaron is accepting, while William is envious. Even though they've become lovers, Marie will not sleep next to William. Marie and William take a vacation to Paris, and Marty wakes up with an ashtray from the hotel on her nightstand. Are they the same person? What is the key to unlocking reality?
