Merry-Go-Round

Mari Pataki, a modest but potential young farmer, resides in a rural setting undergoing arduous change. Her father prohibits her from seeing her lover. The father, obsessed mostly with farm work and future money, chooses to marry off his daughter to an elderly but wealthy business associate. He asserts that land weds land. This appears to be the rule of the Hungarian peasantry. However, the young lover is willing to face any obstacle to retain Maris's affection.
