Endgame

The timing is the late '80s, a vital phase in the annals of South Africa. President P.W. Botha is hanging onto power with a ribbon as the African National Congress (ANC) takes up arms against apartheid and the nation tumbles toward insurrection. A mining concern is convinced that their interests would be better served in a stable South Africa and they dispatch their mind of affairs, Michael Young , to open a unofficial dialog between the bitter rivals. Assembling a reluctant yet brilliant team by facing challenges that seem insurmountable, to pave the way, Young places his hope in ANC leader Thabo Mbeki and philosophy professor Willie Esterhuyse. It is by simply proving more powerful their empathy that will function as the catalyst for change.
