Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus were two movie-obsessed cousins out of Israel who became Hollywood. After their own skewed version of the excellent American Fantasy, they bought an fresh -- Cannon Films -- also ratcheted up its own production to eventually become so synonymous with schlock that the sight of its emblem produced audiences boo through the entire 1980s.
