Denmark

Herb's life is a complete wreck. He's been kicked off of welfare, is unable to find work, is unable to communicate with his son, has a neighbor who won't shut talking, and lives off of cheap beer and mushy peas as a diet. He realizes it's not a good way to live. Now, on the television, he discovers that Danish inmates have a job, access to healthcare, and the peace and quiet of the countryside to look forward to. For the most part, they're living out of hotels. He bids farewell to his shabby apartment and boards a cargo ship bound for Denmark, where he alights in a sleepy port town where he finds everything he needs, including a bank to heist. When he encounters a kind barmaid and a devoted stray dog, he begins to question whether prison is really his only option for a happy life.
