Dead Stop
The desert is a harsh environment. During the day, temperatures can reach above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, which is hot enough to knock a man to the ground; at night, they can fall below freezing and freeze him to death. There is a lot of feral and hazardous wildlife in the area. You don't want to get lost in this area. That's exactly what Todd, Josh, and their pals have done. Having taken a wrong turn on their way to a ski trip, a group of teenagers and the two hitchhikers they've picked up find themselves far from civilisation. As a general rule, it is said that the desert animals, including snakes and spiders, are far more scared of humans than they are of themselves. It's not only fear that's got these people frightened in this scenario. One wild animal is unafraid of humans in this particular area of California's desert. A big, vicious, and bloodthirsty beast that devours its prey. Quite sturdy. It has a primitive feel about it. It goes on and on. It's hungry, too.
