Alone

Maria, whose parents live in the country, is fed up with her father's autocratic ways and relocates to the city. She gets a job as a cleaner and tries to make ends meet in a dingy apartment in a seedy neighborhood of a big city. She's pregnant, and her boyfriend's abandonment doesn't help matters. Her mother comes to stay with her when her father is in the hospital for surgery. Her next-door neighbor, an elderly recluse whose only companion is his dog, begins to emerge from his shell, and these three lost souls try to give each other the strength to begin again.
