The 1975 film by Georgi Daneliya"Afonya" was a surprising business hit USSR. The main character"Afonya" Borshev can be just really a plumber, who also spends his lifetime partying with"buddies", lots of whom he doesn't even remember after nights of heavy drinking. His wife leaves him, his boss puts him on his very existence is falling apart, but he doesn't know it. Afonya met with Katya at a dancing bar , yet didn't pay her attention. But she is the one, that are able to spare him... In this movie Daneliya achieves a perfect balance of satire and drama. Quotes from the movie gained a cult status in USSR.
