Jacek loves heavy metal and rock along with his or her dog. He bombs down them and converts the country lanes outside his doorway to some rushing track. Everybody else runs for cover when he and his girl friend Dagmara simply take into the dancefloor. He keeps his muscles toned working near the Polish-German boundary on a construction site, also loves his existence as a trendy misfit within a environment. But his life has been thrown off course by a terrible accident at work that disfigures him. Followed by the media, Jacek becomes the primary person in the country to be given a facial transplant. He no longer recognises himself, although he might be celebrated as a national hero and martyr. Meanwhile, Jesus' statue grows taller and taller. Events around Jacek come fast and thick, the film brings things a lot more into focus and never loses sight of the picture.
