In the Family
The precocious six-year-old Chip Hines has only known life with his two parents, Cody and Joey, in the hamlet of Martin, Tennessee. And it's a good life. Chip and Joey struggle to regain their footing after Cody's unexpected death in a vehicle accident. Cody's will discloses that he designated his sister as Chip's guardian just as they are about to do so. As Chip is taken from him, the years of Joey's integration into the family come crashing down. Joey looks for a remedy in his now-alone home life. Although friends are on his side, the law is not. Joey discovers a way to make peace with the family and get closer to his son using their solace and the inspiration of memories of Cody.
