Beyond the Call
Russell Gates (David Strahairn) is a Vietnam veteran who is sentenced to death for the murder of a police officer. This news comes as a shock to his childhood sweetheart, Pam O'Brien (Sissy Spacek), who cannot believe he could be capable of perpetrating such an atrocity. This causes her husband Keith to be upset, as she becomes obsessed with the issue and investigates every route that may still be available to the unfortunate man. The excursions to the prison take a toll on her marriage and her family as a result of her imprisonment.
