Amazing Grace and Chuck
Chuck Murdock, a 12-year-old Montana child and the son of a military jet pilot, develops anxiety after witnessing a Minuteman missile during a school field trip. He expresses his opposition to nuclear weapons by refusing to play baseball, resulting in his team forfeiting a Little League game. Smith, played by NBA star Alex English, a fictional Boston Celtics player, chooses to join the child in his protest by resigning from professional basketball. This provides it national exposure, prompting additional professional athletes to join the anti-nuclear weapons demonstration. The film culminates with a personal meeting between the President of the United States and Chuck, praising his resolve but also addressing the real obstacles of disarmament. Meanwhile, sinister forces pose a threat to Amazing Grace and his agent, Lynn.
