Thousand Pieces of Gold

In 1880s China, her destitute father sells young Lalu into marriage. Rather than becoming a wife, Lalu winds up in a gold-mining town in Idaho, the property of a bar owner who renames her China Polly and intends to sell her as entertainment for the town's residents. Lalu eventually makes her way in this weird land filled with white monsters despite her refusal to become a whore.
