The Sleeping City

A young doctor on leave is shot in the head, and the police have no leads on a possible motivation. Inspector Al Gordon (John Alexander) decides to assign three men to duty at the hospital, one of which being Fred Rowan (Richard Conte), a detective posing as an intern but with experience as an army medic. Rowan discovers a high-pressure environment in which interns are severely pressed for time, sleep, energy, and – most importantly – money, and are forced to tread a tight line between personal and professional disaster.
