Seven Years in May

When Rafael returned home from work one evening approximately seven years ago, he was surprised to find that individuals whom he did not know had come looking for him. He bolted away without turning around or looking back. It was as if that night had continued on throughout the rest of his life from that point forward. One night, he makes the decision to reveal his adventure to a total stranger while sitting around an improvised fire next to a factory. The personal experience of Rafael is juxtaposed with the collective testimonies of an entire nation that has been plagued by poverty, police repression, and institutional corruption.
