Murieta

Joaquin Murieta and his wife go north to California in search of gold, encountering only one white person, a marshal, who befriends them. However, after Murieta is assaulted and robbed, and his wife is murdered by robbers, Murieta exacts vengeance on the countryside by organizing a gang of outlaws. Murieta is eventually cornered and persuaded to abandon his crusade by the marshal. However, when Murieta is subsequently wounded and recuperating, his gang begins a reign of terror without his knowledge, culminating in his murder at the hands of the marshal in a last battle.
