Imitation of Life

Lora Meredith, a widow who dreams of being on Broadway, has a chance encounter with Annie Johnson, a black single mother. While Lora pursues her point career, annie becomes the caretaker of all Lora's daughter, Susie. Both women handle the issues of jealousy: while the light skinned daughter, Sarah Jane of Annie and her identity, struggle, her partnership threatens with Susie.
