Eva Doesn't Sleep

The strangest thing about that particular story is it's true. In 1952, the beloved First Lady, Eva Perón of Argentina, died of cancer at age thirty three. A renowned embalmer was commissioned by the grieving Juan Perón to keep her own body for display, and Argentines appeared to function as near"Evita." Three years after, when his administration was overthrown by a military coup, Perón fled the country before he would make arrangements for the transfer of the own body of his wife. The corpse was contested by the military junta in control. So afraid were they of the emblematic power of Eva they made it illegal to utter her name. Hence began the journey of the body all through Europe and eventually back to Argentina of Eva.
